Mothertongue

Part 2.

The Yoruba believe that we choose our destinies before we are born but at birth we forget our choices and have to spend our lives getting back to our paths.

(Original painting by Gaths)

8 and a half weeks left (for Bean)

Remember what you know now:

the only truths

you will ever need

no one will shuffle your mysteries

in tarot

no visits to cramped basements

in crowded cities

to meet mediums

Remember what you hold

what voices speak in the water

with closed eyes

run your fingers

across the divining tray

inside

remember the signs

and why

don't let your first taste of this air

wash your memory away.
