  • Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie is the author of two books: Dear Continuum: Letters to a Poet Crafting Liberation and Karma’s Footsteps.
  • Dear Continuum was selected by Split This Rock as Spectacular Books of 2015.
  • Her first children’s book Layla’s Happiness Book will be published by Enchanted Lion Books in 2017.
  • Her second book of poetry Strut was acquired by Agape Editions and is slated for publication in Fall 2018.
  • Her work focuses on reslience, women, body image, race, ancestry, social justice and the healing power of art.
  • Her poetry is the subject of the short film “I Leave My Colors Everywhere“.
  • She served as Poetry Editor of African Voices from 2013 to 2017.
  • She is the Assistant Editor of Sundress Publications.
